Do you have a dress in mind that you can't find in real life, or just want to be wearing something different?

Do you have a garment that you love the style or fit of and are constantly frustrated that you can't find anything similar in the shops now?

I'm happy to make items up using a piece you already have as the inspiration for what you'd like this time round even if it's just one small detail or even the type of fabric that you'd like in your next garment (after all, most people find it much easier to show than explain in words what they're after) although I cannot produce exact copies of an already existing garment - if it's been made by someone else they own the copyright to that pattern / design (I expect people to respect my copyright over my own designs therefore I respect others' copyright as well).

What can I make to measure for you?
The answer to this question could run to several pages, but I'll try to keep it short! I make all types of womenswear, for every size and shape woman, from everyday trousers to corsets and dresses for special occasions (including bridalwear). I also do some menswear but not childrenswear.

How long will it take?
The length of time if takes depends very much on what the garment is, but I would generally suggest allowing 4-6 weeks for most items and up to 3 months for bridal wear. If you need something producing quicker than that it may be possible depending on the time of year, so do ask!

So what's the process?
Whatever I'm making for you, no matter how special the garment, the process is the same and ensures that you get exactly what you're after. First I will discuss your ideas with you, produce sketches and agree a price. Once the design and price are agreed I will take your measurements and make up a toile (mock-up of the garment) for you to try on and make any final adjustments. Once the toile fits perfectly I will make up the final garment for you.
